Serving at the Heart of the Liturgy
The Altar Servers Ministry plays a vital role in the celebration of the Mass, assisting the priest and ensuring that the liturgy is carried out with reverence, order, and beauty. At the Blessed Iwene Tansi Igbo Catholic Community Chaplaincy under the Archdiocese of Toronto, altar serving is both a privilege and a pathway to deeper faith.
Our Mission:
To guide altar servers to:
- Serve God with reverence and discipline
- Grow in understanding of the Mass and Catholic traditions
- Develop responsibility, focus, and teamwork
- Deepen their personal relationship with Christ
Collectively We:
- Assist during Mass (processions, preparation of the altar, supporting the priest)
- Participate in training sessions and spiritual formation
- Serve during special liturgical celebrations and feast days
- Build confidence and leadership through active service.
Who Can Join?
