A prayerful woman makes a powerful home
Women in the Catholic Church had been yearning for a women’s fellowship as in other Christian denominations. By divine inspiration Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma- Fr. Ebube Muonso of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Nigeria, founded one, the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, (DOHS) International Women’s Fellowship.
Happy to announce that Canada chapter has been founded and approved in 2016 with the help of Barrister Lady Regina C. Okafor of the blessed memory, who brought us together as a group. She organized fellowships with prayers and beautiful word of God. Her good foundation has kept us together until date.
We fellowship in person every 2nd Friday of every month at Transfiguration of our Lord Roman Catholic Church. No. 45 Lodestone Drive Etobicoke ON. M9R 2J2 at 6pm – 7:30 pm.
We also fellowship virtually every other Fridays of the month at 8 pm.
WHO IS A DAUGHTER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?
The Daughters of the Holy Spirit might be strange to some and familiar to others. We Christians, are born of the Holy Spirit and as such are to be bearers of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. (Galatian 5:22) She who is born of the Holy Spirit no longer lives for the flesh but lives in the Spirit and bears the Fruits of the Spirit. She is a woman who has encountered God and lives an authentic Christian life, for the word of God asks, who has encountered God and remains the same? (Exodus 33:20). A daughter of the Holy Spirit is that woman who no longer lives for herself but lives with the desire to please God and become an instrument for the furtherance of God’s kingdom here on earth.
She is a child of God who has torn herself in repentance, whose heart is broken out of contrition and compunction. A Daughter of the Holy Spirit has a dynamic character, and important inward change that illuminates true repentance and righteousness.
She is a virtuous woman. A daughter of the Holy Spirit lives a life of purpose, diligent in handling all her missions and forgives very easily. She is a woman of faith. She serves God with all her heart, mind and soul and seeks the will of God for her life and follows His ways (Proverbs: 31;29-31`
She is a respecter of human, both young and old. She is trustworthy and a handy help mate. She is a mother to all, teaches and touches the lives of anyone she meets, nurtures the children of God with love of Christ, discipline, care, and wisdom. She serves her neighbor with gentleness and a loving spirit, a giving and charitable spirit she possesses.
She is wise when it comes to money. She carefully spends on the necessities, very industrious and works without grumbling. She creates an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love for everyone she meets. She ministers with hospitality. She uses her time wisely and never spends it on anything that does not please God. A daughter of the Holy Spirit is a woman of worth and beauty, an inner beauty that can only emanate from Christ. She is filled with the Holy Spirit. However;
- Daughters of the Holy Spirit are women of prayer: Living by the Spirit entails recognition that one accomplishes nothing by her power. As such a daughter of the Holy Spirit KNEELS before God daily in prayer so that she can STAND against all daily adversities. Indeed, the daily life of the daughters of the Holy Spirit is a prayer experience not just a routine physical exercise of prayer but a dutiful act done with the ultimate goal to please God, since He is her provider and giver of Grace in all situations.
- Daughters of the Holy Spirit are world changers; Jesus says that he who believes in Him will accomplish more than He was able to do. A daughter of the Holy Spirit is the one that can conquer difficulties or challenges according to the power of God that works in her.
- Daughter of the Holy Spirit are authentic witnesses: Since the life of the daughter of the Holy Spirit is constant testimony of the presence of God. Her life is evangelical, good news to all who encounter her. She therefore becomes an authentic witness of Christ and to His Gospel.
- Daughters of the Holy Spirit are evangelists: As an authentic witness, the daughter of the Holy Spirit is an evangelist but not merely with words, but her life mirrors the Gospel ethos in such a way that the people of God can look at her and say, here is one in whom dwells the Spirit of God. She evangelizes whoever encounters her.
VISIONS OF THE DAUGHTER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Consequently, the visions of a daughter of the Holy Spirit are faithfulness, righteousness, holiness, and Godliness. Her core value is to be a role model for the children of God. A life of Sacrifice is her way of life. Thus, the call to every Christian woman is to become a daughter of the Holy Spirit.
